He’s Bruce GrizzLee.
A bear in Japan has gone viral online after showcasing incredible “nunchuck skills” that would put “Kung Fu Panda” to shame. The stunning video was reportedly taken at Yagiyama Zoological Park on an unspecified date, but has since been posted to Twitter, where it’s amassed nearly 14 million views.
In the high-flying footage, the 4-year-old black bear can be seen impressively whirling a martial arts staff weapon like a character in a Jackie Chan movie. The karate cub manages to twirl the flail for nearly the video’s entire 21-second duration before dropping it.
Suffice to say, the critter’s zoo-jitsu display has wowed viewers across social media.
“That is HYSTERICAL OMG,” tweeted one astounded fan of the clip, which boasts over 50,000 retweets and nearly 160,000 likes.
“Oh wow, it’s Bruce GrizzLee!” quipped another.
Another shared an advert by UK seafood firm John West that featured a fisherman exchanging karate kicks with a person in a bear suit. “I always knew there was more to this,” they wrote.
Some joked that the bear’s martial arts prowess was a sure sign of the apocalypse.
“Knowing the humans’ wills had been sapped by the quarantine, the bears reveal their terrifying skills in a bid to retake the honey fields,” quipped one Twitter twit in reference to the coronavirus lockdown.
Another theorized that the nunchuck-wielding bear was part of a zoological trifecta of doom, along with “murder hornets” and “meth gators.”
However, others didn’t find the clip so chucking funny.
“This is a captive animal showing deeply disturbed, abnormal behavior,” tweeted one online animal rights advocate.
“Funny, except the poor bear is a captive,”
