Wisconsin GOP Rep. Bryan Steil declared Sunday night that he has tested positive for the Covid-19.
“In the wake of working in Washington, D.C. all of a week ago, I started experiencing mild symptoms this end of the week and reached my medical care provider while at home in Janesville,” the congressman wrote in a statement posted to Twitter.
“I took a COVID-19 test today and the test results came back positive,” he added.
Steil said after getting the results, he quickly started isolating and plans to work from home.
The lawmaker’s coronavirus diagnosis comes as cases in the US have been consistently rising.
