Savannah Sullivan, who suffers from her fat edema, lost her self-confidence when a man constantly criticized her with her big legs. She feels she was “destroyed” at the age of 22, but she managed to recover through gorgeous bikini snaps of herself.
Makeup artists now regularly share awareness of the symptoms of fat edema and how it affects people physically and mentally.
Remember that the kids insulted her for her size and used insults like “cottage cheese legs” and “bingo wings”. But she was trying to diet and exercise, so it wasn’t as if she hadn’t tried. But he couldn’t adjust her weight.
“When I was a kid, my legs and arms were always bigger than the other girls, so it was never fun. I could look around the room and everyone’s legs looked quite different from mine,” Well, I didn’t want to wear a skirt that I had to wear for sports practice just because I wondered what happened.

“I know I don’t overeat. I’ve always maintained a healthy and balanced diet. It was difficult, kids don’t know [about the condition], They always choose fat kids to straighten it. ”
“Being told that you’ve got ‘bingo wings’ when you’re 13 isn’t very fun.”
The woman talked about posting her bikini photo: “Posting a full-length photo is like regaining my body:” This is who I am, this is which I am “Does it look like?” And “It’s okay to look like this,” we are all different. ”

“By posting a video of my body and condition on social media, I found myself strengthened and freed.”
“There are ups and downs. One day I look in the mirror and love my look. I love my size, calves, belly etc. The other day I flip the mirror over and It’s like you never want to see your body again, “added a woman from Antigua in the Caribbean.
“I’m pretty honest with my post.” Sometimes it’s really terrible, and it’s okay, and it comes with taking ownership of it. ”

She’s been properly diagnosed with Stage 2 lipoedema earlier this year and will go through liposuction next year to help with her physical condition.
She reveals that men would actually tell her in the fact that her size is the reason she got rejected or dumped. Savannah shared, “It was like ‘you’re too big for me,’ ‘I could never date a girl whose legs are bigger than mine.’”
“I think those were what really hit home. Boys would say that as an excuse for not going out with me.”
She continued, “It’s also the subtle things like, ‘why don’t we go to the gym together some time? I think that would help you’ and it’s like ‘ahh, shut up.’
“It made me feel awful. It absolutely destroyed my confidence and that’s definitely stuff I still dealt with up until I got with my recent partner who is very accepting, understands, and has taken the time to learn with me about this condition.”
Ever since she knew about herself more, she wishes to share that knowledge to help others to learn about themselves.
“If anyone else is going through that and if I can post a video and lead them to look up lipoedema like I did, then that might change their life. I’m not saying I’m a life-changer or mystical guru, but if I can help just one person, then that would be nice,” she hoped.
Savannah feels totally elated when she hears those things because that moment of realization for others means they can look up for help to know they’re not alone and it helps raise awareness!
