Police have exposed the man who supposedly peed on a fellow Delta Airlines passenger as a pastor from North Carolina, as indicated by a report.
The person in question, a lady named Alicia Beverly, told police she fell asleep on an early departure from Las Vegas to Detroit and awoke to find a man urinating on her, as indicated by The Winston Salem-Journal.
“So I woke up and looked to one side and seen this guy standing close to me,” Beverly said in a police report got by the newspaper. “Soon after I began to feel something warm and I jumped and shouted … and that is the point at which I felt my skirt was wet.”
Daniel Chalmers, a minister at Love Wins Ministries from Raleigh, North Carolina, first told police that Beverly was lying. However, after an officer noticed he smelled of alcohol he admitted to having a few drinks and claimed that he had suffered a bad reaction to the medication he took prior to the flight.
Chalmers also said while being apprehended that he plans on suing Delta for “defamation of character.”
The FBI later interviewed Chalmers and wrote him a citation for simple assault and let him leave.
Delta issued a formal statement at the time of arrest that “law enforcement officials met Delta flight 874 from Las Vegas to Detroit upon arrival on the morning of Oct. 13 due to an unruly customer.”
