Nicole Scherzinger Lewis Hamilton faced an awkward run-in with her ex at tonight’s Fashion Awards after he said their split turned his world upside down.
The Pussycat Dolls star and X Factor : Celebrity judge dated F1 champ Lewis Hamilton for on and off for seven-and-a-half years after they met at the MTV EMAs in 2007.
They showed there was no bad blood between them when the couple posed for snaps on the red carpet all these years later.
But when their long distance relationship came to an end for good in 2015, Lewis opened up about how badly the split had affected him.
In an interview with Sky Sports at the time, he said: “I wear my heart on my sleeve and it is hard to hide my emotions.
“I’m trying my hardest to be positive but I’m going through a really, really tough time at the moment with the loss of someone really, really special in my life.”

He added: “My world’s turned upside down, but I have a job to do. I need to keep myself occupied and busy because otherwise my mind will wander and that makes the time a lot harder.”
Lewis said he was planning to keep himself bust and make sure the time went by quickly.

The racing driver once said his girlfriends always came second to his cars.
He once told The Sun: “My cars are my babies.
Lewis is there too.

“I used to say, when I had a girlfriend, ‘I’m taking one of the girls out, so you can come if you want, but you come second when it comes to the cars.”
Whereas Nicole said they had gone their separate ways after becoming too “comfortable” with each other.

She told People: “Sometimes people stay in relationships because they get complacent, because it’s comfortable for them, because they don’t want to be alone.
“It’s a new chapter in my life. I’m going through a very transformative time in my life.”
At the awards tonight, at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Nicole looked incredible in her bold beaded black dress which left little to the imagination.
