Many actresses get trapped in one role or image, but sometimes the opposite happens when a movie role gets associated with one specific person. So, remakes are a very risky business which, for some reason, doesn’t really scare off directors. Almost every popular movie already has a remake. The familiar characters, that look very different, often spark controversy among viewers: some people are ready to accept the changes and some people are completely against “parodies” of their favorite characters. Here are some famous female movie characters which side are you on?
We decided to compare people’s favorite characters and we want to know your opinion: do you think the new generation was able to successfully replace Angelina Jolie, Goldie Hawn, Pamela Anderson, and other actresses?
Baywatch
The show that was popular in the 1990s, Baywatch, is remembered by many people thanks to the beautiful girls wearing red swimsuits. And Pamela Anderson was one of them. 28 years later, the blonde rescuer is played by Leonardo DiCaprio’s ex-girlfriend, Kelly Rohrbach.
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
In 2018, a new film about the famous adventurer, Lara Croft, was released and the main role was played by Alicia Vikander. But Jolie fans think that the remake was not very successful. Many viewers think that a perfect Lara Croft is supposed to have the body and the magnetism of Angelina Jolie.
Jean Grey
Actress Famke Janssen was able to make her character a recognizable person, even though in all of the X-Man franchise movies, her character never played the most important role. Sophie Turner was luckier: her Jean Grey was the focus of a new film.
Carrie Bradshaw
9 years after the finale of Sex and the City, the prequel The Carrie Diaries was released and the main role was played by AnnaSophia Robb. And even though the creators tried to make the characters of both Carries very similar, many viewers think that Sarah Jessica Parker did a better job playing a New York trendy girl.

Charlie’s Angels
The first Charlie’s Angels show was released in 1976, and 24 years later, the first remake was created. The actresses who played the trio were Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, and Cameron Diaz. And now, 19 years later, it was decided to do another remake. This time, the roles are played by Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska.
The Enchanted
In 1998, people got addicted to the show The Enchanted that stayed on the TV screens for 8 years. The remake was released in 2018 but we have only seen one season: many fans of the original show were unable to find a place in their hearts for the new cast.

Dirty Dancing
The main actors of Dirty Dancing in 1987, Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey were able to make thousands of people fall in love with the movie. And the 2017 remake failed to do the same. Neither the critics, nor the regular viewers liked it very much.
Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
Despite the fact that the 2018 Sabrina looks younger than her predecessor, the remake is far scarier. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina show is no longer about the funny situation of a young witch with her cat, but it’s actually a real horror. The reviews from the viewers are pretty good and the cat is still in the show.
