The US military on Tuesday apparently counted 1,314 new Covid-19 cases — a record every day sum, as COVID-19 numbers among the nation’s civilian population have been simultaneously flooding.
The jump in military cases, revealed by CNN, comes as the positivity rate in the military is at 6.8 percent, a US defense official told the source.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 69,000 US military members have contracted Covid-19 and 10 have passed on with the illness, as indicated by information accumulated by the Department of Defense.
Of every military branch, the Army represents the most cases with more than 25,000.
Meanwhile, nationwide, the US on Wednesday reached 250,000 COVID-19 deaths, data shows, as cases in the country have been on the uptick.
