President Trump late Sunday night indicated that he may fire White House Coronavirus Task Force part Dr. Anthony Fauci after the election.
The president went on the riff while talking about the pandemic during his fifth rally of the day in Opa-locka, Florida.
As Trump deplored news inclusion of the virus, the crowd ejected into a “Fire Fauci” chant.
After the crowd cooled off, Trump stated: “Don’t tell anyone, however let me stand by till a smidgen after the election.
“I appreciate the advice,” Trump said, to roaring cheers.
Trump added that Fauci has “been wrong a lot,” but said the nation’s leading infectious disease expert is “a nice man.”
The threat to fire Fauci comes as Trump’s administration has grown displeased with the doctor’s recent public comments praising Joe Biden and sounding the alarm over a winter COVID-19 outbreak.
