Kainaat was born in a Pahari-Punjabi family in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She started her job as a model. At the age of 16 Kainaat shifted to Delhi where she learnt merchandising at the prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology. While pursuing the course she got modelling offers.
